MoneyVaults: Finances & FIRE — User Manual

Vault Categories:

• Piggy Bank: Goals with target amounts and milestone progress bars.
• Emergency Fund: Calculates monthly burn rate and runway months covered.
• Investment: Simulates compound growth, dividend projections, and capital goals.
• Stock / Equity: Track ticker symbols, units, average acquisition cost (PRU), live P&L, and dedicated Buy & Sell orders.
• General Account & Cash Flow Intelligence: Central clearinghouse for income, expenses, and inter-vault transfers. Premium unlocks Cash Flow Intelligence directly inside the General Account details with key analytics: all-time and period record expenses/incomes, top expenditure and revenue tags, period starting and ending balances with net variations (absolute and %), and daily average spending.

Balance with General Account: Instantly synchronize and reconcile specialized vault balances with your liquid cash flow, ensuring transparent tracking of capital allocated to reserves or investments.

Vault Sorting & Drag & Drop Reordering: In the Premium version, reorder vault cards effortlessly using the 3-dots drag handle (⋮⋮). Your customized sequence is automatically remembered across app restarts, and the Custom Order option in the Sort Vaults menu lets you return to your preferred order anytime. You can also sort by Default, Balance, Name, or Vault Type. Tap Update P&L, Update Price, or Update Base to open an instant auto-selected numeric input dialog where typing immediately replaces the old figure.

Cash Flow Control ("Include in the cash flow" Switch): Every expense, vault contribution, withdrawal, stock trade, planned item, and recurring rule features a unified "Include in the cash flow" switch. Turn it off when logging reimbursed expenses, prepaid card spending, or internal portfolio transfers that shouldn't affect your liquid cash balance.

Smart Tag Auto-Naming: When creating a new transaction or recurring rule, selecting a Tag automatically populates the transaction title with the tag's name (if blank or previously matching a tag), eliminating redundant typing and speeding up daily logging.

Tag Manager: Create and color-code custom tags to classify transactions and filter views effortlessly across all screens.

Analyze historical and real-time wealth progression through the Vaults Evolution & Trends and Vaults Monthly Evolution screens:

• Vaults Monthly Evolution (3-Level Stacked Bar Drilldown): Built on the Budget architecture and focused from the perspective of the General Account. Toggle between Inflows and Outflows across selectable historical periods and future forecast horizons. Stacked bars represent:
  • Level 1: General Account total value bar.
  • Level 2: Sub-components (Direct Income, Transfers from Vaults, and Dividends for Inflows; Direct Expenses and Transfers to Vaults for Outflows).
  • Level 3: Detailed Tag breakdowns (Rent, Utilities, Groceries, Dining, etc.).
  Tapping any stacked bar segment opens a detailed values summary and immediate transaction list for that level, with navigation arrows (→) to advance through the drilldown. Includes parent back-navigation (←) to the Budget screen and timeframe-optimized bar spacing that fills the screen dynamically.
• Multi-Horizon Evolution Curves: Inspect individual vaults or your entire portfolio across 1M (Daily), 3M (Daily), YTD (Weekly), 1Y (Weekly), and ALL (Monthly) horizons.
• Natural Dual-Curve Scale with Live P&L % Scrubbing: Simultaneously compare Current Balance and Profit & Loss (P&L) on a natural monetary scale with a dashed 0 baseline and Y-axis reference labels. Dragging your finger across the interactive chart updates the cursor tooltip and recalculates the dynamic P&L percentage in real time for Investment, Stock, and Asset vaults.
• Comprehensive Performance KPIs: Refactored KPI metrics clearly report Total P&L, Total P&L %, Period P&L, and Period P&L %. The Period Change card explicitly details the total variation separated into net capital inflows versus pure P&L market performance.
• Automated 00:00 Snapshots & FIFO Pruning: At 00:00 local time, MoneyVaults captures daily, weekly, and monthly snapshots using First-In-First-Out (FIFO) retention pruning to keep storage ultra-compact.
• Quick Time Filter Reset: In any Vault Details screen, easily reset custom timeframe drilldowns back to the full history with a single tap on the Clear Time Filter button.

Switch seamlessly between the Transaction List View and the Interactive Monthly Calendar View on the Cash Flow screen:

• Monthly Grid & Daily Summaries: Visualize daily inflows, outflows, and net totals at a glance.
• Status Filter Pills: Filter the calendar by All, Completed, Planned, or Recurring items.
• Direct Day Actions & Future Editing: Tap any date to inspect its transactions, confirm due items in 1 tap, modify a future one-time planned transaction, or edit a future recurring rule (affecting only the selected and subsequent future occurrences without creating premature completed entries).

• Distributions: Log one-time or recurring (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual) dividends.
• Stock Link: Connect dividends to stock vaults to estimate payouts based on shares owned.
• Tax Withholding: Configure withholding rates to project realistic net take-home cash.
• Dividend Projections Dashboard: Switch between 1M, 3M, 6M, End of Year, and 1Y projection horizons.
• Monthly Average Reference Line: Continuous edge-to-edge dashed reference line with a floating pill badge highlighting your average monthly dividend income.
• Batch Management: Expand cards for localized unit breakdowns and use Select All, Deselect All, and Delete Selected for efficient management.
• Payout Confirmations: Confirm dividends upon payment directly into Cash Flow.

• Dedicated Matched Income Section: Matched income occurrences are cleanly aggregated into a dedicated, collapsible section at the bottom of the screen with independent sorting (Name Ascending / Descending) and filter visibility toggling, while keeping original items in their respective rules.
• Optimized Display (Anti-Truncation): Transaction titles across compact and expanded cards now support up to 2 lines (preventing ellipsis cutoffs). In the Pending tab, trigger dates and times are displayed in dedicated amber badges with clock icons, ensuring full readability even with long vault names.
• Flexible Schedules: Every x Days, Weeks, Months, or Years with custom due dates (1–31) and exact notification times.
• Device Alerts: Local push notifications with 1-tap Confirm & Log, Modify & Log, or Skip.
